The Excellent Adventure - Journey to Seal Rocks

16-Dec-2010 / 17-Dec-2010

Day 0 and 1 of the Excellent Adventure has involved a lot of packing, running late, buying stuff and running late. We left Sydney in the late afternoon on Thrusday (running late) with the intention of taking my car up to Port Macquarie where we could swap it for the four-wheel drive and boat.

While I love my car, one thing it definitely leaves wanting is space to move large amounts of stuff. Even with leaving a bunch of our things behind in Sydney (for friends who are joining us this weekend to bring up) we ended up with a crazily full car. I’ll let Gabe illustrate:

Packing the car, like a boss!

Unfortunately, Adam isn’t with us on this leg of the trip. If he were, we’d be far more organised and do much less running late than we have been. (ShouldveListenedToMacca.com)

We spent Friday working till mid afternoon and then went to the shops to buy food for the week. Then, running late (I’m starting to sense a general theme happening here…), we finally got the Merc and Boat packed and made our way down to Seal Rocks. By the way, check out our ride!

We arrived at Seal Rocks in twilight and ended up setting The Palace up for the first time in the dark (true adventure style) and now have settled in for the week. It really is quite a beautiful place…

Tomorrow the real fun begins, we’re meeting up with a few friends, attempting to surf for the first time and we’ll also get to see how good we were at setting up camp in the dark.
